In addition to general information about the operation of the Clerk’s four offices, you will find calendars to assist in scheduling jury and non-jury trials, motion and trial dockets, Local Rules of Court, fee schedules, and a library of downloadable forms used by the Courts. We also provide answers to a number of frequently asked questions and links to other web sites of interest. Subscribers to our CaseLink” service have access to our case management database for Circuit, Probate and General Sessions-Civil Division cases via an easy-to-use web interface and may view images of select documents on file with the Clerk’s Office. The Clerk provides free on-site training to Davidson County, Tennessee subscribers. In its twenty-seventh year of publication, the Clerk’s monthly newsletter is designed to keep the Davidson County legal community apprised of developments in the Courts, procedural changes and detailed statistical information regarding jury and non-jury trial results, case filings and dispositions, and collections. In Davidson County, the Circuit Court Clerk is charged with the responsibility of maintaining not only the records of the eight Circuit Courts but also the civil records of the eleven General Sessions Courts. Among the types of cases heard by the Circuit Courts are contract disputes, civil torts, condemnations, worker’s compensation claims, domestic matters and the administration of estates. The jurisdiction of the General Sessions Courts includes limited-jurisdiction torts and contracts, landlord-tenant disputes and matters involving the violation of a Metropolitan government ordinance, including traffic and codes violations. This diversity of clerical responsibilities has resulted in the operation of four distinct offices – the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, the Probate Court Clerk’s Office, the General Sessions-Civil Division Clerk’s Office and the Traffic Violation Bureau/Traffic Warrant Division, all under the purview of the Clerk.
